Companion Animal Hospital offers many services to meet the needs of you and your companion. Use the links below to learn more about these services
Companion Animal Hospital of Fountain City concentrates on preventative health services which includes client education in preventative health concerns (monitoring), conducting complete physical examinations, and routine laboratory screening for underlying parasitic and other diseases. Sometimes, animals can appear completely healthy and still have serious underlying diseases. Although we certainly immunize patients against important diseases, immunization is now becoming a less important part in the preventative health plan. We also encourage dental care (including cleanings), consultations on nutrition including weight management, behavior advice, other animal care management and other preventative care procedures. For those services which we do not offer, we can easily refer you to a number of specialists in this area.

Our hospital also offers many non-medical services, including boarding, grooming and an area which offers different nutritional, skin and other products for your companion.

Because animals occasionally become ill, we also offer diagnostic (both in-house and outside laboratory), therapeutic, hospitalization and surgical services for your companion. Although we can treat many diseases, we do occasionally have limitations or times when we feel that greater expertise is needed and that is when we will recommend a referral.
Although we have offered emergency services in the past, it has become increasingly difficult to offer what we feel is quality care. Also, most veterinary hospitals cannot offer economic and efficient 24 hour hospitalization services and because of this, usually referral to an after hours emergency clinic is necessary. Often, we are available for consultation on these cases and you may refer to the telephone number on the office answering machine should you need advice. Please note that this consultation service is only available for our current clients. For emergency care within the Knoxville area, we have the Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic located downtown on Ailor Avenue, the After-Hours Emergency Clinic located in west Knoxville and the University of Tennessee Small Animal Clinic (referral only).
